This is great stuff! It thickens, it gels, it adds texture and lends a conditioned or smoothing feel to products. It promotes highly stable co-emulsions over a wide pH range and has excellent salt tolerance. Pro-Gel offers the ability to create any type of product from a sprayable to a thick cream – without the need to radically alter a formulation. It even offers the benefit of ‘any temperature’ processability, creating stable emulsions in both cold process and hot process formulations. A highly stable, elegant skin cream can be formulated using only Pro-Gel, water, an emulsifier, an emollient & preservative in minutes – at room temperature. Very simple and easy. Because of its compatibility with such a wide range of other skin care ingredients such as emollients, emulsifiers, solvents, silicones, vitamins and more, it can be the base for the simplest to most complex formulas you can imagine. It is a dust-free powder that dissolves remarkably easy in water, dispersible in water temperatures from 5° C to 80° C. It does not require heating, sifting or premixing, allowing for ‘one pot’ processing. It can be added to either the water phase or the oil phase, no need for neutralization, emulsions created with Pro-Gel are stable over an exceptionally broad pH range (3-9) and can be added at any time even as a post-add ingredient. This is really fun stuff to work with! There are so many things you can make with it. It works in lotions, it makes a great base of glitter gels, salt gels and exfoliating scrub gels (looks and works great with jojoba spheres), mechanic paste cleaning gel, the list goes on and on. It's one of those products that you'll find yourself adding to all sorts of things. I've even made a stainless steel pot scrub with the pro-gel and extra extra fine pumice. If you're making any sort of gel type product that has oil that you want to stay incorporated, the other two products above will not only do that, but will also add different textures and desirable properties.
